The DELE Exams are the officially recognised examinations in Spanish as a Foreign Language organised by the Instituto Cervantes. The exams are structured to examine the content of each of the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) – A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2.

The most frequently requested level is the B2 (similar to the Cambridge First Certificate in English) as this is the level generally accepted as the minimum level required to study in Spanish at university level or work effectively in a Spanish-speaking environment.

Taking into account the levels which are most commonly requested, we provide specific preparation courses for the levels A2, B1 and B2. The A2 course is of 2 weeks duration while B1 and B2 are 4 weeks. The exam courses are designed to help students who already have the required level in Spanish to successfully pass the exam. They deal with the content and type of question format of the exams and frequently use past exams as practice tests. If you would like preparation for the other levels these can sometimes be arranged by adding One-to-One lessons to an Intensive course.

• 20 lessons per week
• 50 minutes per lesson
• Classes times: 8:30 - 12:30 h

Our students frequently book a programme starting with Intensive courses to achieve the level required for the exam and then finish with the exam course. It is therefore not unusual for students to book programmes of 16-20 weeks or longer to prepare for these exams. If you are not beginner, we will send you a level test to help assess how many weeks of intensive Spanish you may need before the specific exam course.

For students wanting to enter Spanish University, a level similar to DELE B2 is usually regarded as the minimum required. For Masters programmes, this is frequently the only requirement in addition to having an Undergraduate Degree. For more information visit Masters Degrees.

Malaca Instituto is an official Examination Centre of the Instituto Cervantes implying that our students can take their exam in the school itself, and that we have trained IC examiners on our staff.

If you are looking for a classic “Gap Year” programme you might like our Hispanic Studies programme which includes B2 in Term II.
