YOUNG ADULTS PROGRAMME: SPRING AND SUMMER COURSE

We offer 2 programmes designed to meet the needs of young adults in the 15-20 age group who want to improve a language course-based vacation:
• Young Adults
• Young Adults PLUS

YOUNG ADULTS: Spring and Summer

15 lessons per week + activity programme: 15 lessons of Intensive Spanish (50 minutes per lesson) and programme cultural, sporting and social activities aimed at this age group.
This is a classic vacation course for older teenagers. You will meet other youngsters from all over the world and make lasting friendships while improving your Spanish (or learning from zero!) and participating in a fantastic range of social, cultural and sporting activities. You can have a lot of fun and improve your school exam prospects at the same time.
Hundreds of youngsters join us each year – come and join them and have the holiday of a lifetime!

Includes:
• 15 Spanish lessons per week (50 mins. per lesson)
• Cultural, social and sporting activities each weekday aimed at your age group, of which 1 each week will be a half day excursion
• 1 full day excursion at the weekend for 2 week courses, 2 full days for 3 weeks or longer

• In addition, activities from our general programme such as film presentations, cultural talks etc may be available depending on your schedule

YOUNG ADULTS PLUS: Spring and Summer Course

This is a more intensive version of the Young Adults course, adding 4 x 1-1 (individual tuition) classes to the existing package of course and activities. The 1-1 classes can be tailored to meet each student’s precise needs which can include focusing on any weaknesses identified by the first day level test or on the requirements of specific exams – literature, oral components etc. This programme is therefore the perfect revision course for the older teenager looking to improve their marks in up-coming exams.

SPANISH FLAMENCO & SALSA COURSE

20 lessons per week + 5 Dance lessons + Activity programme (Only Flamenco Course):

Both courses combine 4 lessons of Intensive Spanish at any level with 1 lesson per day of dance. You may study for 1 or 2 weeks (or combine this with a longer course of Intensive Spanish).

Class times: From 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and in the afternoons. Every day.

Spanish FLAMENCO

Andalucía is the cradle of Flamenco – a passionate art form which is one of the key influences of Andalucian culture.

There are 3 areas of flamenco:

• Baile (dance),
• Cante (singing),
• Toque (guitar and rhythm).

We concentrate on teaching dance. This is an introductory programme and aims to teach the steps of the Sevillanas and some other typical Flamenco movements.

We want our students to be able to impress their Spanish friends with their interest in and knowledge of their culture.

Spanish SALSA

In recent years there has been a huge world-wide resurgence of interest in all forms of "latín" dance. This has resulted in a tremendous success for our Spanish courses combined with Salsa and other Latin dance forms. Occasionally you can combine Salsa and Flamenco and enrol for 4 weeks.

The dance classes are for beginners or those with a little knowledge. The Dance Studio “Salón Picasso” has a purpose-built wooden floor, air conditioning, sound system and practice mirrors.

Adjustable partitioning allows lessons to be given in smaller or larger spaces according to need.

MASTER CLASS – CLUB 50S+ PROGRAMME

15 lessons per week + activity programme: 15 lessons of “everyday” Spanish (50 minutes per lesson) and programme cultural and social activities aimed at this age group.

If you like taking holidays such as creative writing, tennis camps, cookery, rambling, skiing, etc, you might like to consider this kind of activity holiday focusing on the Spanish language and activities in Spanish but also providing the opportunity of meeting and getting to know like-minded people from other parts of the world.

Malaca Instituto has been offering this specific programme for over 20 years and more than 4000 clients have attended, providing us with a great deal of experience of dealing with, and providing services to, the more mature student.

If you would like to improve your ability to communicate in Spanish in day to day situations and then participate in a series of cultural and social activities while networking with people from different countries, this could be the course for you!

The course is offered at all levels, although most are in the Beginner – B1 range. The aim is not to perfect your Spanish and the emphasis is more on situational rather than structural Spanish. You will be learning and practicing Spanish for typical, everyday situations such as:

• Going to the market
• Ordering food and drinks in a restaurant
• Introducing yourself
• Asking directions
• Going to the doctor

Please note: if we do not have a Master Class available at your general level we will find you a place in an appropriate general class group.

This happens occasionally but we invariably find an agreeable solution. After all, during the Master Class course dates, the average age of our students is well over 35! There is always the specific Master Class activities programme.

After your classes you discover that we have designed a very special activities programme for your age group – see the example (enlace al programa de Actividades abajo) below.

The rest of your day is free to enjoy the company of your newly-made friends either on our campus or discovering the beautiful historic centre or the beach-front restaurants of Pedregalejo.

CLOSED GROUPS: TAILOR MADE COURSES

Typical tailor mades courses for groups can be:

• Groups of students from School or University with special requirements which don’t fit those of a general group course.
• Adult “closed-groups” the following approximate information.

School /university group Courses

We receive quite a few school or University groups each year. They come mainly from Europe and the US but we have also had groups from Asian countries. Some are from elite, world famous, private schools, and others are from perfectly ordinary state schools.

These groups are always tailored to the exact needs, interests and objectives of the school, teachers, parents and students concerned. They usually come accompanied by their teachers or other group leaders.

If you are a teacher at a VET (professional training school) in Europe, you can request Erasmus+ funding for groups of your students to study at Malaca Instituto.

The Malaca Instituto-Club Hispanico campus has the facilities, experience and specific services that make us an especially good location for school groups. These advantages are:

• Mini-campus – everything on-site: compared with other language schools in Spain we have quite extensive facilities comprising:

• 95 rooms: single, double, triple, executive and studios. All with private bathroom and safe
• 25 classrooms all with audio/visual facilities
• restaurant
• student lounge, dance studio
• multi-activities room
• pool and fitness machines
• 3 terraces

Ideal for school groups looking for residential-type programmes.

• Total Quality: Malaca Instituto has an average ratio of 1 staff member per every 3.5 students. We have 5 Director-level staff. This is extremely unusual and helps us in our aim towards total quality. This is also very reassuring at the time of risk assessments and later during the programme itself. We give the accompanying teachers a great deal of support!

• R&D department: an academic department which produces most of our text books and other teaching materials – given sufficient warning we can create tailor-made materials - extremely unusual for a single private language school!

• Quality guarantees: the inspections by EAQUALS, IALC and the Instituto Cervantes are the students’ guarantee of our high standards and that we do what we say we do in our publicity literature.

• The City of Malaga: we make full use of this historic, Mediterranean city to create stimulating, educational and sporting programmes of activities: eg.
• Guided visits to the Picasso and other art galleries, sometimes with workshops
• Tours of the Alcazaba (Arabic palace) and Gibralfaro (castle)
• Dance activities and sports on the beach
• Cookery lessons and tapas tours

• Star Award School: Malaca Instituto has won the Star Award for School of Spanish worldwide 5 times at the annual awards held in London and is therefore one of only 9 language schools in the
world to have achieved “Super Star” status –

If you are interested in organising a school or University group programme, please contact us with:

The following approximate information

We will send you a detailed and costed draft proposal for your comments and/or approval.

Adult “Closed” groups

Each year we receive requests for small groups of adults who want programmes tailored to their specific needs. Typical examples are:
• An evening class group studying together who want to have a week in Spain at the end of term.
• A group of retired people who want to come and study together.
• A group of business people or diplomats with the same level of Spanish and objectives
• A group of friends who want to come for a Spanish + Cookery programme on dates which don’t fit our programme.
• A group of teachers with Erasmus+ funding for a specialised programme

If you would like us to prepare a costed proposal for such a programme, please contact us with as much information as possible about the number of participants, level of Spanish, content, objectives and dates and we will send a draft programme.
